Why the setup needs a second computer
A DMA card does not live in the gaming PC — it lives in a second one, and that second one is usually a Mini PC. Small case, quiet cooling, enough performance: its job is to take the picture from the fuser, process what the DMA card reads, and put the result on a monitor.
How to choose a Mini PC
- Processor. A 13th-generation N150 is a sensible minimum with headroom; weaker platforms bottleneck on the image.
- Video outputs. You need a free input for the fuser and an output to your monitor; models handling three monitors and 4K leave room.
- USB ports. Count them with Makcu and your peripherals in mind.
- Card slot. If the board goes inside, check for PCIe and physical room — otherwise you will need an external connection.
