What a Makcu module is for
Makcu is the board through which the second computer drives the mouse and keyboard of the gaming PC. To the gaming machine they are ordinary USB devices: the signal arrives down a cable, not from software inside the system. Without it, a DMA card setup stays read-only.
How to choose
- Board version. Makxd is the current one; the classic ESP32-S3 board is still a working, simpler option.
- What you are connecting. Mouse only, or mouse and keyboard — that decides how many ports you need.
- Cables. One per device, plus one to the second PC.
- Firmware. The board is flashed and configured once — step by step in the Makcu flashing guide.
What you need alongside it
The module works as part of a set: a DMA card reads memory, a fuser carries the picture, and the second computer is usually a Mini PC. An assembled, tested set is in the kits.
